Meet Almon, a disabled veteran of the U.S. military. He was once homeless.

Today, Almon is able to live in a decent, safe, and sanitary apartment with his wife thanks to assistance he received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program [HUD-VASH]:
If it wasn’t for HUD-VASH, I couldn’t think about even owning a home in the future. Not only having my own apartment for the past 2 years, have allowed me to feel a lot better about myself. When you have a key that you can put in the door, it gives you the chance to control your destiny. […]
There will be other veterans coming home in the future, and they need the same opportunities that I had.
Mitt Romney has threatened to eliminate HUD, which would be devastating for millions of veterans and families struggling to get back on their feet. Hear the rest of Almon’s story and learn about how poverty and unemployment affect our veterans.
