Following an infamous November 2011 incident where a University of California-Davis police officer was caught on video casually pepper spraying students who were peacefully protesting, university officials spent at least $175,000 on consultants in hopes of scrubbing the internet of negative posts about the school and Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi, the Sacramento Bee reports.

Minnesota Lawmaker Tries To Make Black Lives Matter Protesters Pay For Police Overtime

Black Lives Matter protesters in Minnesota have shut down the Mall of America twice, blocked an interstate highway near downtown Minneapolis, occupied part of the airport, and camped outside a police precinct in north Minneapolis. The protests were sparked in part by the 2014 deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown at the hands of police officers and rekindled late last year after Minneapolis resident Jamar Clark was shot and killed by police officers.

Police Routinely Beat Up Students In Baltimore, But Kids Are Too Scared To Talk


The REACH Partnership school in Baltimore made headlines this week when a school police officer was seen slapping and kicking a male student. That police officer has been placed on administrative leave and the Baltimore Police Department — an separate entity from the Baltimore’s school’s police force — has launched a criminal investigation.
